Weekend 11-15-2024

Good Morning Heavenly Father,

I come before You this Friday morning with praise and thanksgiving in my heart. Thank You for bringing us to the end of the work week, for many people. For those who’s work week is winding down, help them to finish the week strong and productive and give a good days work for a fair days wage.

For those with an upcoming weekend, help them to relax and unwind and to find joy and fulfillment in family time and activities. For those out of the habit, guide them toward a church service this weekend where they can hear Your word, engage in quiet reflection and sing Your praises. Our city, our state and our country need more prayer, more truth and more Christ-like thoughts, actions and behaviors. Guide us toward You.

For those without a big Friday upcoming weekend thought, let us keep them in our thoughts and prayers. Many, many workers who provide essential services don’t work a traditional Monday through Friday work week. Help us to keep that in mind as we see utility trucks, police cars, ambulances and the host of restaurant’s and stores open. Help us to be patient, kind and Christ-like to all we meet. Help us to look for the good in all circumstances, situation and in all people.

Often we think, or maybe just me, that we live in an angry, impatient and unkind world. That’s not what You have planned for us. Help us to do better. Send Your Holy Spirit upon us to live, love and interact with each other according to Your will.

Help us all to be called to silent prayer and reflection the next few days. Let us not only feel and hear Your nudge, but to stop, and act on the invitation. In the Mighty and inviting Name of Jesus we pray and ask these things; Amen.
