Tuesday March 18th 2024

I’ve shared that I started reading the Bible, working to read it from cover to cover. During much of the Old Testament, I can almost know what is coming talking about so many leaders…..”he did evil in the sight of the Lord, following the abominable practices of the nations the Lord had cleared out of the way of the Israelites” or “He did evil in the sight of the Lord, as his father had done. He followed exactly the path his father had served. He abandoned the Lord, the God of his fathers, and did not follow the path of the Lord.”

I sometimes get discouraged that once again, they know the laws and desires of God, and yet they fail. And, it also gives me hope. I pray and share:

Dear Father God,

Thank You for working to soften my hard heart. Thank You for speaking loudly and softly to hear Your call for me to read the Bible and study and pray on Your Word.

Help me to better follow Your Word, Your commandments and Your will. Too often, I like the ancestors in the Bible, I too stray from Your will and desires. Help me to put Your will and desires above all else. Soften my heart and strengthen my resolve to follow you. Let me live a life following Your will and walking the straight path, so no one will read my life story some day and have the same feeling…..that he knows the right path and way, and yet does what is displeasing to the Lord.

Help me in my walk father God, I need You. In the Mighty Name of Jesus I pray and ask these things, Amen.
