I lot has happened in the last few days since I have been able to post lately. The best and biggest event was my mom’s 90th birthday. I was able to share the day with her and help her celebrate.

Also, lately, I have been focusing on the Gospel of Mark, Chapter 4:1-20, the parable of the sower. I’ve been in deep prayer focused on the verse, “Those sown among the thorns are another class. They have listened to the word, but the anxieties over life’s demands, and the desire for wealth, and cravings of other sorts come to choke it off; it bears no yield.”

Dear Heavenly Father;

You know my heart and my intentions. You know I listen to the word. You know that I want to be a follower who hears the word, and then acts on Your word.

Today, tomorrow and always, help me to resist all that chokes off my yield. help me to let go of the anxieties, life’s demands and the desires, desire for wealth and other cravings. Help me to focus on what chokes out my following You and turn it over to You in prayer. Assist me on purifying my soil and letting Your word grow in my heart. I can’t do this alone and I turn to You for Your love, support and guidance.

I pray and ask these things in the Mighty Name of Jesus; Amen.
