This Is Too Much 11-16-2024

Good Morning Heavenly Father,

This morning I offer up my prayers for all who are going through difficult times. I have friends who are going through cancer, fighting the effects of stroke and LCS, facing the loss of a loved one, dealing with children facing mental health and substance abuse issues and so many other issues.

Sometimes, you hear people say, this is just too much for me to handle. And, often they are right, that it is too much to handle alone. And yet, we are not alone nor were we ever intended to be alone.

I often think about the Abe Lincoln quote; “Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the ax. It’s about the preparation. Being ready, having a plan and then executing that plan.

So today, I pray for everyone with too much to handle today. Heavenly Father, reach out to everyone of Your children this morning and call them to prayer before their day and journey starts. Call them to drink from Your well that never runs dry. Call them to peace, peace that surpasses all understanding. Give them faith and courage. Help them to lean on You when their well runs dry.

Send Your Holy Spirit upon them that they may receive the patience, grace and mercy necessary for the day ahead. May Your Holy Spirit bring to them people and other resources that may ease their worry, fear, anger and isolation.

Also Father, boost their spirits and remind them while in their dark places, they are not alone. Help them to see the joy and goodness in their lives and the world, while going through the difficult times. Help us to believe as Job, that You have never abandoned or left our side, no matter the struggle or the difficulty.

In the Mighty Name of Jesus We pray for all gong through trying and difficult times and ask that You bring them peace and comfort that only You can provide. In the Mighty Name of Jesus we pray and ask these things; Amen.
