Sunday Reflection 11-17-2024

Dear Heavenly Father,

On this Sunday morning I take time to attempt to look upon my life from a wider perspective. Often, while in the midst of the daily noise, distractions and responsibilities, there is so much I often miss. I can become immersed in problems, troubles, pains and busyness and miss the blessings, gifts and joy around me.

First, I thank You for my faith and belief in You God, my heavenly father, In the love and sacrifice of Jesus and the gifts of The Holy Spirit. I know that life is too difficult and often without meaning without the wisdom and guidance of my faith and belief in You.

I thank You Father for the safety and comfort of my life. It takes just a moment of listening to the national news to hear of the wars, fighting and killing and hatred in the world. Please bring peace to all of your children. We pray for safety and comfort for all who so desperately desire and need peace and comfort.

Thank You for our health, and the medical services that as so readily available. Most of us have some aches and pains and concerns, yet, we are physically able to move about and travel and participate in our daily activities. So many people we know are not so blessed.

Thank You for the loved ones, family and friends who provide us company, friendship, conversation and companionship. Bless their lives and give them comfort and hope as they provide essential gifts to our lives.

Thank You for the financial means to keep us warm, well fed, clothed and comfortable. Bless all who are not so blessed. Please provide Your loving care on all who need Your assistance.

Lastly, Father, this exercise could go on forever, as the more I really look at the blessings, gifts and comforts You provide, the more I realize that my thank you is weak considering the vast amount of blessings You provide. Help me to be forever grateful and mindful in offering my thanks. Help me to be as generous in the world as You are to me.

Let me spend some time the rest of the Sunday in quite reflection and gratitude for the life and blessings You provide and help me to carry these thoughts and feelings into the week ahead for the benefit of others. In the Mighty Name of Jesus I pray and ask these things; Amen.
