I am working on reading the Bible from cover to cover this year and it has been a great and rewarding experience for me. I too often don’t spend enough time just in silence, to hear the words and whispers of God directing me, challenging me and comforting me.

This morning in Psalm 23, these words touched my heart and were meant for me and direct my prayers; “Show O Lord, thy ways to me and teach me thy paths. Direct me in the truths and teach me.”

Dear Father God,

Thank You for waking me up for another day in Your Kingdom. Help me to enjoy and embrace the silence. It is in the silence that I can hear You. Help and teach me to embrace the silence and listen for Your direction.

Today, I hear the words and command so vividly….. “teach me thy paths. Direct me in thy truths and teach me.” I pray that the words and teachings of Jesus and the gifts of the Holy Spirit be upon me. Open my eyes, my ears and my heart to You teachings, truth and direction. Let nothing interfere with hearing You and then acting upon Your words and will.

Let me actions today and always be guided and directed by You truth and teachings. Give me the will and the strength to make Your will, my will. In the Mighty and Holy Name of Jesus I pray and ask these things, Amen.
