Saturday, May 3rd 2025 Reflections
It’s been way too long since I have shared, prayed and spent time here. I’ve been reading a lot, one book that is on my list is about how you would live if you had 30 days to live. It is a source of a lot of reflection and prayer. Most days I read and pray a fair amount, go to daily mass, and take care of the endless barrage of things that seem to demand my time during “normal” life. This week I had a plumber to the house, made appointments for truck services, SUV service, AC service, bought a new lawn mower, mowed a couple times and am working on my Medicare coverage upcoming.
This morning, I set aside all of these things and pray, to help me focus on what is important and to focus on what really matters.
Good Morning Heavenly Father,
Thank You for waking me up this day. This is the day, which You have made, I am rejoicing and am glad. I count my 5 good things in which I am grateful for even before my feet hit the ground today, to start my day in a spirit of gratitude and thanksgiving.
Today, I focus on the new book I am reading. If I had only 30 days to live, and perhaps, that is Your plan and will and I indeed only do have 30 days to get my affairs in order and to prepare to meet You face to face. Knowing that reality may be so, perhaps cleaning the microwave and rearranging books on the shelf of cleaning the garage could wait for another time?
Father God, As I attend Mass this week, we are reading in the Acts of The Apostles. The Apostles are proclaiming the words and works of Jesus with passion, love and enthusiasm with no fear in their hearts. They have been touched by Your Holy Spirit and they are guided to pure and holy words, thoughts and deeds. Please send Your Spirit upon me, in a way that Your Apostles received, felt and accepted the Holy Spirit into their lives. May I be open to hear, see and feel Your Spirit and allow myself to be directed and guided by His presence. Please give me focus and clarity of heavenly and divine pursuits and let the noise and distractions of this earthly realm fall at my feet.
Guide me today with Your Holy Spirit and let me immerse myself in love and service to You. In the Mighty Name of Jesus I pray and ask these things, Amen.
