Dear Father God,

This morning, I pray to combat selfishness in my life. Help me to remember that this life is only temporary and this place is not my home. It is often too easy to get comfortable and ignore the call and urges to share, to be generous and give to others.

I am reminded of the verse in Mark 9:35, “If anyone wants to be first, he shall be the last of all and the servant of all.”

Please open and soften my heart and let these words guide my thoughts, words and actions, “let me be the servant of all”.

In the Mighty Name of Jesus I pray and ask this, Amen.
