This morning, I had a few things to do that occupied my mind and attention as soon as I woke up. What came to mind was Mark 12:17 as it says give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and give to God what is God’s. With that said, I didn’t want to not give God all my mind, heart and attention during my prayers, so I did my earthly tasks and errands that need to be done, and then, started my prayer time. I pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
I’m a little later than usual today, but now I know that I come before You and am fully attentive to You. Help me to set aside the worry and distractions of the world to spend time with You each day. Help me to know and feel that true peace and joy only come from You. Help me to see and understand that the temptations and distractions of earthly things attempt to steal and cloud our source of true happiness.
Lead me toward verses and songs today which reinforce Your message of searching for heavenly matters and not on earthly distractions. Guide me today and help be to be mindful of my actions and interactions and help them to be aligned with Your will.
In the Might Name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
