Good Morning Father God,

Thank You for waking me up this cold and snowy Monday morning. I’m warm, the furnace is running, there’s food in the pantry and things in the refrigerator.

So many people are not able to offer thanks for these things this morning. Some because of the terrible fires in California, some because they were born into poverty, some because of war in their country, some because of drug addiction, some due to mental health issues.

As I travel about today and listen to the news, let me do so with a kind and compassionate heart. Too often it is easy to become isolated and self consumed and not see or hear about the trials and sufferings of others. As long as I’m safe, warm and happy the world is great?

Today, we pray for all those who are in trouble and lack the physical comforts we so abundantly enjoy. We pray that You guide and assist those who need to make changes and turn things around. Bring them strength, courage and love to set them on a better path.

Help us to assist and make a difference in whatever way we can. First through prayer. Help us to know and believe that the power of prayer does make a difference, it changes people and circumstances. Also, let us be generous with our resources. Our hearts, our words, our thoughts and actions and our dollars all can and do make a difference. Help all of Your children, and our brothers and sisters live with the physical comforts necessary to feel cared for and loved.

In the Mighty Name of Jesus I pray and ask these things; Amen.
