Judging Others 11-9-2024

Last night with a friend the topic of judging others came up in conversation. It was a good, open and honest conversation and myself, and the world probably needs more of the same.

It must have been important to me, as when I woke this morning, the topic and various verses came to mind. I leaped into my Bible this morning and focused on these verses:

Matthew 7:1-5, 12:36-37, Luke 6:37-42, 6:31-36, John 8:1-8, James 4:11-12, Romans 2:1-3, 14:1-13, 12:16 & 2 Corinthians 5:10.

Good Morning Father God,

I offer my heart felt thank You for waking me up today and providing me the sense of sight, hearing, touch, smell and thought to face and enjoy another day in Your kingdom.

This morning, I focus and pray on the idea of judgement. No one likes to think of themselves as judgmental, though most of us likely are, in at least a way or two, even if it is out of our radar.

Please provide us with the wisdom, clarity of thought and vision to recognize when we are judging others. It seems that our judgment can have two different paths, one a quiet and internal path when we think to ourselves and the victim of our judgment isn’t affected. The other path, seems much darker and more cruel, when we verbalize and make known our judgmental thoughts of action, in the presence of others or the person themselves.

As I read Your Word this morning, I acknowledge that You alone, sit on the throne of grace and it is Your position alone to judge. Help me to repent and remember that I am a sinner, in need of Your forgiveness and mercy. Each day, I fall short and come to You for forgiveness. Give the the humility and grace to accept that I need Your forgiveness as much as any of my brothers and sisters,

Please purify my heart, my intentions, my thoughts and interactions. This day, and always, let me pray for anyone who might capture my attention when I am tempted to judge them or their actions as I pray for me to become less of a person to judge, and become more of a person that loves.

In the Mighty Name of Jesus I pray and ask these things; Amen.
