Genesis 4:6-7 Tuesday February 18th 2025
Yesterday in church this reading really caught my attention and guided my thoughts and prayers since;
So the Lord said to Cain: “Why are you so resentful and crestfallen? If you do well, you can hold up your head; but if not, sin is a demon lurking at your door: his urge is toward you, yet you can be his master.”
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You that yesterday You drew me near this passage about Cain. Help me to pray and meditate on the message and take it to heart.
I pray that with Your mercy, grace and guidance I can be drawn away for jealousy and resentment. Help to to put my efforts into my own good works and generosity. Help me to be glad and rejoice when others are rewarded for the efforts and good works. Let the works and accomplishments of others help to motivate me to do good as well. Let me not compare or become resentful of the hard work and rewards of others.
Remind me today that “sin is a demon lurking at the door” and guide and direct me in a holy way that You would have me go. I alone and not always strong and wise enough to do so, so I pray and ask for Your help to become it’s master. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray and ask these things; Amen.
That was a great scripture and story
