Widen My Vision
Dear Heavenly Father,
It is often way too easy for me to focus on me, my wants, my needs, my desires, my life. This often causes me to be a little too selfish and to dismiss much of the world around me.
I’m afraid this narrow view causes me to miss too many opportunities to do good and to do Your will in the world. Help me to see with Your eyes and feel with Your heart. Help me to look for and to see as You see. help me to hear as You hear and respond to what I hear.
Often, I think about the activity, if we were all to place our trials and troubles in one big pile and we saw the problems and trails of others, we’d rush back quickly and grab our own back.
This morning, help me to really look at the problems, difficulties and trials of others and see what they are carrying. Help me to see and understand what it would be like to take upon another’s trials. Help me to see and feel the struggles of others. Please help this exercise widen my eyes and my hearts to see how and where I might help those around me. Break me out of my “me bubble” to see, hear and act to those around me for the good of them and Your kingdom.
In the Might Name of Jesus, I pray that You would help me think, feel and be more like You. Amen.
