Dear Father God,

The holiday season is upon us, and that means so many different things to so many people. To some, it brings joy and excitement, to some a reminder of a love one lost, to others a time of cold weather, early dark days and You know best of what people have on their hearts.

This month, I pray for all needing Your peace and joy. Let Your peace be felt in our hearts. Today, I personally feel anxious, by the events in the lives of those around me. Help us to be more attuned to the needs of others around us. Let us be the kind ear, the kind hand and the kind soul to those around us. Often we don’t know how to be helpful, but You do. Send Your Holy Spirit upon us to have the right thoughts, the right words, the right touch and the right attitude to offer loving kindness to those around us.

Please help my patience. Breathe Your calm upon me and let it be shared to those in need. Please work to allow me to be Your humble servant to those in need. remind me that it is through service, I can and will find my own peace and calm.

Jesus was the perfect example of a life of service. Please place His love and commitment to loving and serving others in our hearts. In the Mighty and serving name of Jesus we pray and ask these things; Amen.
