Thanksgiving Day 11-28-2024

Good Morning Father God,

Thank You for waking me up with a heart full of joy, gratitude and thanksgiving. There are some mornings and days when it is almost easy to develop a deep sense of gratitude and feel it deep in my soul. I thank You for this feeling and the joy of the day.

My prayer this morning though is mostly for the rest of the week, the month and into the Christmas season. You know that I am so easily swayed and distracted by the events of the day. Please help me to take the events that cause me to lose my peace and joy and to put them into perspective. The events turn into worry, stress, fear and anger and I can spiral downward pretty quickly.

Please bless me with Your peace and wisdom. Help me to know that an event or situation is just that, a temporary challenge to be met, handled and quickly forgotten. Help me to have a short memory when it comes to things that should be quickly over. Help me to avoid hanging onto past issues, hurts or annoyances and allowing them to steal my joy.

Father, I pray that this upcoming season, I can feel Your presence in my life and Your joy in my heart. Help me to be waterproof to the events that rain on my day. I know that with Your love and guidance, together, we can make this the best holiday season ever. I place my trust in You and ask for Your grace and guidance.

In the Mighty Name of Jesus I count my blessings and ask Your favor on my activities. In Your Holy Name I pray and ask these things; Amen.
