Conscience November 2nd 2024

This morning I’m back in my own safe home after a visit with my dear mom. It’s good to be back home and offering my prayers up in my own “nest” as my mom would call it.

Dear Heavenly Father,

This morning in the still of the early morning, before there’s a sound outside, I start the day with my “5 good things” prayer.

Father, I thank You as I hear the furnace ignite as it begins to warm the house. Thank you for the ability to pay the bills and be warm and comfortable a I begin the day.

Father, thank You for the warm water which will face my face and shave my whiskers as I wake and start the day. Thank You for the blessings of my physical needs.

Thank You Father for the abundance of food and drink in the house to meet my daily needs. Help me to appreciate and cherish this blessing so many of Your children do without.

Thank you Father for two eyes that see my way to all the other blessings You have provided. Mom doesn’t see as she once did, but still manages well. Please bless her eyes and maintain her eyesight to allow her to continue to live alone, drive and play a game of cards once in a while.

Lastly, as I look into the mirror, let me take a good look, beyond and behind the simple reflection. Let me see deeper and have a deep and honest conversation with my conscience. Help me to honest recall my actions, thoughts, motives and intentions of yesterday. Help me to become that “follower of Jesus”, not just a fan. Help me to get my hands dirty, make my words be true, make my thoughts be pure and my intentions meaningful as I work to do Your will. Please let me feel the pull away from what is distracting and let me feel the push toward what is righteous. With Your help, today I can and will be much more of a follower of Jesus, rather than a fan.

In the mighty Name of Jesus I pray, and ask these things; Amen.
