Somebody’s Child
This morning I listened to the song “Somebody’s Child” by Blessing Offer and Dolly Parton. It really make me sit, pray and reflect upon what it means to me and what it stirs inside. I pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
This morning I pray that You reach out to all of Your children and let them know how valuable they are, how special, how talented and how loved. It is often easy in a world that can be harsh, cold, mean and indifferent to remember that.
In a busy world, we often identify ourselves in the earth plain. I’m a child of Delia. And that is only part of the story, as I am Your child, a child of God, as is everyone else. That gives us grace and blessings and calls us to service as well.
I pray also that in my dealings with people I don’t know, people I don’t like very much and everyone in between that I treat them as Your children. I focus on the thought that You love them and died for each of them just as much as You did for me. Let this real and challenging truth be my guiding focus on my interactions with others.
I pray in Your Mighty Name for all Your children; Amen.
I pray these verses: John 1:12, Galatians, 3:26, Proverbs 22:6, Ephesians 6:4 & 1 John 3:1
