Not A Fan

I recently read a book entitled; “Not A Fan” by Kyle Idleman. I happened across it by accident earlier this summer. I was at a golf course clubhouse getting ready to golf and the girl at the counter had it laying beside her. I asked her if that was her book and if it was good.

She responded that it was hers and that, though intense, it was good. It’s about becoming a more committed follower of Jesus, and not just a casual “fan” of Jesus. I took a picture of it and thought maybe I’d order it so I’d have something to read on vacation.

Well, I did read it on vacation and it opened my mind and thoughts to a lot of things. For quite a while, I had been doing a little morning prayer message. I would read a bunch of prayers and find something that fit my need for the day or I felt was profound and should be shared.

After reading the book though, I felt that God may have been whispering to me….. I love the prayers, and the people that wrote them, but I’ve already heard them. I’d rather hear directly from you, from your heart, from your thoughts, about your fears, your dreams, your needs.

So, I have decided to venture out here and say my own daily prayer, talking directly with Father God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit in my own way. I’m not sure I’ll share the site or not? I’m not sure there would be any content or prayers that anyone would benefit from.

I do know though, that is path is the proper one for me at this time.
